#TorchAwards for Marketplace Ethics
At BFO, we attribute consistent client success and our own fast growth to our commitment to marketplace ethics. Actually, it’s more than a commitment. Ethics is really the foundation for everything we do.

This year there were over  250 nominees for the BBB Torch Award. We’re honored to be a Better Business Bureau 2017 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics honorable mention recipient.

About the Torch Award

The BBB Torch Award recognizes businesses for their belief in marketplace ethics, integration into everyday business practices and active promotion of ethics in customer, employee, and vendor relationships.  Businesses must also foster trust in their communities. The Torch Award evaluates award applicants based on six criteria. These are:

–          Leadership Commitment to Ethical Practices

–          Communication of Ethical Practices

–          Leadership Practices to Unify the Organization

–          Organizational Commitment to Performance Management Practices

–          Organizational Commitment to Ethical Human Resource Practices

–          Organizational Commitment to the Community

Committed to Employees, Clients, Consumers and Community

Be excellent to everyone. It’s a simple way to sum-up how BFO CEO Steve Krull and President Dan Golden believe business should be conducted. This belief has been BFO’s guiding principle since the company’s founding in 2009. The results since then show it works.

For the last six years, BFO has been recognized as one of the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Companies. Six consecutive years of growth like this puts the company in a small and elite group of service-oriented agencies. BFO has also received multiple recognitions as a U.S. Search Award Finalist. Awards like these reflect a high level of client success.

In that time, BFO also earned the Ad Age #1 rank in 2016 for Best Places to Work in the U.S., an award heavily dependent on employee feedback. Employee satisfaction that earns an award like this comes from more than bean-bag chairs and ping-pong tables. The company empowers employees through open book management based on Great Game of Business principles. This approach creates a fun, flexible and employee-focused culture fostering not only high employee satisfaction, but industry-leading high-quality client work.

Ultimately, business ethics revolve around promoting honest relationships that empower everyone. Client success, business growth and employee satisfaction demonstrate the benefits of relationships built on an ethical foundation. BFO also promotes quality vendor relationships through a view that all vendors are partners.

The company maintains active and engaged community involvement. BFO fosters community relationships through “give back” initiatives, by supporting employee volunteer efforts through VTO, and via pro-bono work on behalf of groups like the American Epilepsy Foundation, Jewish Family Services and Feeding America. Quarterly company-wide charity campaigns are another way BFO gives back.

We’re thrilled to be recognized as a Torch Award recipient. We don’t do what we do to win awards, but it’s nice when we do.
