Be Found Running for a Cause - Be Found Online

You want to do what?!?!?

This is normally a question I get from my husband and son after pitching my latest crazy family adventure. This time I was getting it from a room full of my fellow Beefers (BFO employees).

When I first heard about BFO’s renewed focus on community involvement, I knew I wanted to propose something Big. Bold. Badass. Something that pushed us all beyond our comfort zones.

This year on the weekend of October 7 & 8, a team of Beefers will be participating in the Hennepin 100, a one-hundred mile relay race, which has a 30 hour time limit.  The runners – whose experiences range from newbie to ultra-marathoners – have committed to running a minimum of 13 miles to raise money for the Cara Program.

The Cara Program was founded in Chicago in 1981 to prepare and inspire motivated individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, transform their lives, strengthen their communities and forge paths to lasting success.  Since that time, more than 5,300 individuals have been placed in over 7,800 jobs, with a one-year retention rate of 70% or better.

Cara also supports social projects such as neighborhood beautification projects that employ temporary workers.  The social projects generate more than $2 million in annual revenue and create over 400 transitional jobs for the hardest to employ.

If you would like to support the Be Found at the Finish Line team and the Cara Program, you can donate online here.
