Google’s back at it again…. Keep your eyes peeled. Rumor has it there’s a new Penguin algorithm update on its way!

New Penguin Update

Gary Illyes, Google’s Webmaster Trends Analyst and Search Quality Engineer, recently announced that Google may be launching a Penguin refresh in the next several days.

The brief announcement came at Search Marketing Expo East earlier this week. While not much information was given about the update, it’s supposed to be good. According to Illyes, the refresh should make webmasters’ jobs “easier,” as well as making search users happy.

According to the announcement, if you disavow bad links now or in the past two weeks or so, it will probably be too late for the upcoming refresh. Illyes also said that Penguin updates will likely be happening more frequently with the new algorithm.

As long as everything runs smoothly, we may be seeing this update next week. Keep your eyes open for news on the Penguin algorithm – we will, too!
