BFO Makes Ad Age’s Top Ten Best Place to Work 2017

5 Minute Read
Ad Age’s 2017 list of Best Places to Work is out. Just like last year, this 2017 list features a host of awesome companies from every corner of the U.S.! Our team is thrilled to see we’ve earned a Top 10 ranking for a second straight year!
For 2017, Ad Age ranked BFO #6 of Best Places to Work in the U.S. We have to admit we had hoped we could repeat 2016’s #1 ranking, but we are truly honored to rank among so many fine companies! Number One or Top Ten, we remain committed to providing a highly desirable work environment for our employees. We know exceptional employees deliver exceptional results for our clients.
The Ad Age Methodology, or How They Build the List
Ad Age believes “great cultures can take root anywhere.” To build their list, Ad Age reviews surveys submitted by hundreds of ad agencies, ad tech and media companies from cities all over the United States. Companies who submit a survey must have forty or more employees.
There are two types of surveys: employer and employee. The employee survey gathers feedback on work environment, career development and total company rewards. It accounts for 60% of the score. The employer survey covers company comp and benefit plans, work-life balance, diversity and special perks.
BFO’s Employee Commitment
At BFO, we practice Open Book Management as defined in the Great Game of Business. This approach empowers employees and makes them stakeholders in the business. The leadership team, led by CEO Steve Krull and President Dan Golden, believe empowered employees possess great insight, and their input can help guide the company to growth targets and build a strong company culture.
Ranking on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company list for a sixth straight year in 2017 supports this belief. The Top 10 ranking on the Ad Age list further reinforces the incredible contributions made by everyone at BFO. This year we’ve also received the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Business Ethics, an award that reflects the commitment of every member of the BFO team to deliver the highest levels of client services.
Supporting Employees Outside the Office
Employee work-life balance matters at BFO. That’s why in addition to cool perks like half-day Fridays during the summer and Cubs tickets, the company supports its employees outside the office. Some employees telecommute. Sometimes employees need flexibility to manage family issues that come up.
BFO also offers employees a chance to get involved in their community. Employees are encouraged to take Volunteer Time Off. Last year, the company closed on election day for Voting Time Off, so employees could vote or get involved in the election process.
At BFO it’s simple. We want employees to be excellent – at the office, in their communities and with their families.
